They teach you the behavior of a confident person. However, those behaviors are the result of having built confidence. They're not the actions required to build it.
Think about it like this:
It would be the same as saying: “Millionaires have a luxurious (and expensive) lifestyle. So to become a millionaire, you must start living beyond your means.”. This argument confuses cause and effect.
